Porch Music
for the sake of solitude
for solitude never wearied
for the rainbow in her sky
for no rainbows arched in winter
for the parade of rain in the trees
for a porch is a porch without other
for the magnificent underside of the sieve of mercy
for a porch is space where no harm enters
for the glisten of an afterthought
for it alone was silver and wet among leaves
for the metronome of inconstancy
for the one ever changes
for light perpetrating redolence in an empty white chair
for it has found its foundation
for the burning clock that never ticked the same twice
for the inflamed water called
for a cool surface to be rescued from the air
for prelude of unknowing
for aftermath was a long lost friend
